Spirituality and Spirit
The Domus common spirituality
is that of expiation with Jesus Christ Eucharist through Maria
Rosa Mystica. Expiation means "to atone," "to offer in ransom
for," or "to suffer in place of." Jesus Christ is the one who
innocently expiated for all the sins of humanity in his sacrifice on
the cross and, through his death and resurrection, attained the
salvation for all. That act of expiation happens again, in a
bloodless way, at each celebration of the Eucharist, where Jesus
Christ is again the Victim of Expiation to the Father for all
humanity.
Mary was the one who, above everyone else,
suffered in a spiritual way the passion of her Son and united with
Him all of her immaculate self. She was given to all men at the foot
of the cross in the person of John the Beloved Disciple as the
Mother of Sinners. She, “the most beautiful flower that ever was
seen in the spiritual world” (John Henry Newman), the Rosa Mystica,
throughout the ages, constantly asks her beloved children for prayer
and penance in expiation for heart hardened sinners.
With Jesus Christ Eucharist, Victim of
Expiation, and Maria Rosa Mystica, the Domus
missionaries—Mendicants and Oblates—daily live in the spirit of
expiation uniting to Christ' sacrifice on the cross all their
sufferings, sacrifices, and good deeds for the expiation,
conversion, and deliverance of every hardened heart sinner, but
especially for priests, religious, and young people.
This spirituality
naturally emerges from the Domus' charism and end. Its
spirit is contained in the Twelve Pillars of Communion with
the Expiatory Christ (Twelve Pillars). The Twelve Pillars of
Communion with the Expiatory Christ are:
- Jesus Christ Eucharist
- Maria Rosa Mystica
- poverty
- chastity
- obedience
- expiation
|
- conversion
- deliverance
- asceticism
- mission
