Youth and Young Adult Ministry of conversion and Deliverance
This apostolic activity is done
by the missionaries’ programs for diocesan and parochial youth and
young adult ministry that seek the expiation, conversion and
deliverance of young people, drawing them to a renewed commitment of
life and apostolate. These programs include: individual ministry of
deliverance, theological formation on demonology, retreats of
conversion, street counseling on abortion mills, door-to-door
evangelization, Eucharistic congresses, and foreign pilgrimages and
missions.
Besides these activities, Domus
Rosa Mystica has developed three specific weekend retreats for
young adults (ages 16-30) that correlate
—in a modern, engaging
way—
the three traditional ways of
the spiritual life (purgative, illuminative, and unitive) to the
three main pillars of our charism (conversion, deliverance, and
expiation).
Behold a brief description of
the retreats:
-
Conversion Retreat
— This is the first of the retreats that seeks the change of
life of the young adult from the ways of the world, sin,
despair, and hopelessness to a new life in Christ and to a fuller participation in the Church. This retreat relates to the
purgative way of the spirit and focuses on the eternal love of
the Father for his children and Jesus' salvific action in the
current reality of the young adult through the Holy Spirit's
force and assistance (this is more a kerygmatic evangelization).
-
Deliverance Retreat
— This is the second retreat that seeks further growth in the
spiritual life of the young adult
after the initial
conversion and fuller participation in the life of the Church.
It focuses on the healing and deliverance from repeated patterns
of sin and weaknesses, past wounds that shape some of the young
adults' behavior and internal darkness in the soul/mind.
It correlates to the illuminative way of the spirit for it is
Christ the Light of the World who illumines, heals, and breaks
dark bonds. The Christian virtues and fruits and gifts of
the Holy Spirit are presented as further tools for personal
deliverance.
-
Expiation
Retreat
— This is the third retreat that motivates the young adults to
love Jesus so much as to want to offer their lives to Jesus in
atonement for the sins of hardened heart sinners. This
retreat takes St.
Paul's example of suffering what is "lacking" of the passion of
Christ upon one's own life and St. Faustna's life and message of
divine mercy as joyful models for the unitive way of the spirit.
Here the young adult makes a personal commitment of
unconditional love and
expiation to Jesus Christ as well as to strive for a life of
heroic virtue.
